Say it aint so, Fox News being fair and balanced!?

Judge Napolitano of Fox News’ “Freedom Watch” had Occupy Wall St protester Danny Panzella on his show and dare I say the Judge was actually fair and balanced for the most part. He did start off the debate with the same old silly corporate media questions “what are these protesters protesting” and “what do these protesters want” but he did manage to highlight the diversity of the protesters and their ideas, which is a good thing, and most importantly he shined a light on NYPD overreactions and abuses when dealing with the Occupy Wall st movement.

Occupy Wall St protester educates Fox News reporter…

Jesse LaGreca did an interview with Fox News, though I doubt if we’ll actually ever see it air. Fox News along with some other so-called media outlets have been doing their best to paint the Occupy movement as a bunch of clueless smelly marijuana smoking hippies with no direction in life. Enter one Mr. LaGreca, he is exactly the type of Occupy Wall streeter they don’t want you to see.

Al Qaeda leader invited to the Pentagon for lunch after 9/11 attacks

Radical Islamic cleric, Al Qaeda operational planner and U.S. citizen, Anwar Al-Awlaki, was assassinated by the Obama administration via predator drone missile strike in Yemen today. Apparently the president now has the authority to sentence  U.S. citizens to death without any evidence being presented, charges being brought or trial taking place. What’s more disturbing than that though is that Fox News, yes that Fox News, claimed to have obtained documents last year that show that Al-Awlaki was invited to the Pentagon for lunch months after the 9/11 attacks.

Yes, you read that correctly.

According to Fox, Awlaki was taken to the U.S. Department of Defense’s headquarters as part of a military outreach program to the Muslim community during the aftermath of the terrorist attacks.

In an FBI interview conducted after the Fort Hood shooting in November 2009, a Defense Department employee told investigators that she helped arrange a meeting with Awlaki after seeing him speak in Virgina. One of the documents stated that the employee had ‘attended this talk and while she arrived late she recalls being impressed by this imam. He condemned Al Qaeda and the terrorists attacks. After her vetting, Awlaki was invited to and attended a luncheon at the Pentagon in the secretary of the Army’s Office of Government Counsel’.

Awlaki was apparently interviewed at least four times by the FBI in the week after the September 11 attacks because of his links to three of the hijackers. He was also said to have been linked to Fort Hood shooter, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, who emailed Awlaki before the attack as well as 2009 Christmas Day underwear bomber Farouk Abdulmutallab.
Former Army Secretary Tommy White who led the troops in 2001 has said he doesn’t recall having lunch or any contact with Awlaki.

White said: ‘If this was a luncheon at the Office of Government Counsel, I would not necessarily be there’.

The Pentagon has yet to offer an explanation as to how one of the world’s most wanted men with clear connections to other terrorists could have ended up at a lunch for Muslim reconciliation soon after the attacks.

Army spokesman Thomas Collins said: ‘The Army has found no evidence that the Army either sponsored or participated in the event described in this report’.

A former high-ranking FBI agent told Fox News that nine years ago when Alwaki went to the Pentagon lunch, there was tremendous ‘arrogance’ about the screening process and who they allowed in the building.

‘They vetted people politically and showed indifference toward security and intelligence advice of other’, the former agent claimed.

Former MSNBC show host Cenk Uygur goes on Muslim extremism rant over Norwegian attacks…

Here at the Devout Infidel we are fans of The Young Turks political internet show and have used clips of their viewpoints on many occasions, but wrong is wrong and host Cenk Uygur was completely wrong in his analysis of the tragic terror attacks that took place recently in Norway. Cenk went on a long drawn out 11 minute rant about Muslim extremism, and while he is right that Muslim extremism is a problem the attacks in Norway were carried out by a Christian not Muslim extremists. This is worst than what Fox News did to a degree because with Fox you would expect nothing less.

Check out Cenk and his co-host discuss the incident below, hopefully The Young Turks will do the right thing, readdress the issue and make the necessary corrections.

Fox News caught lying, again…

Laura Ingraham was a guest host Friday night on The O’Reilly Factor. She did a brief report on the terrorist attacks that killed dozens of people in Norway. She started by saying, “In the ‘Back of the Book’ segment tonight, two deadly terror attacks in Norway, in what appears to be the work, once again, of Muslim extremists.” After this flat out blatant lie she went on to give a description of the attacks and then went straight into a segment about the planned Park51 Islamic community center near ground zero in NY saying “In the meantime, in New York City, the Muslims who want to build the mosque at Ground Zero scored a huge legal victory. A Manhattan judge dismissed a lawsuit by former New York City firefighter Timothy Brown, who was trying to stop construction of the mosque. Bill O’Reilly spoke with a lawyer for the Muslim developers yesterday.”

Fox News has truly turned misinformation into an art form. Not only do they tell an outright lie, they use that outright lie to try to stir up more controversy over an issue that isn’t really all that controversial, all while smearing an entire group of people. They might air a correction on the story dealing with the Norwegian terror attacks but regardless if they do or they don’t enough people have already seen the original report. There will definitely be people who will not see the correction and will spread the lie that the attacks were carried out by Muslims. Not only that but Ingram managed to connect the attacks in Norway to the Park51 Islamic cultural center, so the center will immediately conjure up images of terror attacks in people’s minds when they think of it. The same cultural center that will actually have inside it a swimming pool, restaurant, culinary school, a library, art studios, child care services, prayer space for all religions and a September 11th memorial. Doesn’t sound much like the celebratory mosque that some people are insisting it is when you take into account all the facts. Facts? How silly of me, if you were looking for facts you wouldn’t have been watching Fox in the first place.

Head over to for video of Laura liar liar pants on fire Ingram in action.

Presidential candidate Herman Cain: American communities can ban mosques…

For someone who professes unwavering love for our United States Constitution, presidential candidate Herman Cain has a strange way of showing it. According to Cain Islam is not a religion like other religions and Americans have the right to keep it out of their communities if they wish.

In an interview on Fox News when asked about the Murfreesboro, TN mosque project, which would build a new home for a Muslim group that’s worshiped in the Tennessee town for three decades, Cain said the following:

“Let’s go back to the fundamental issue. Islam is both a religion and a set of laws, Sharia laws. That’s the difference between any one of our traditional religions where it’s just about religious purposes.”

“So, you’re saying that any community, if they want to ban a mosque…” show host Chris Wallace began.

“Yes, they have the right to do that,” Cain said. “That’s not discriminating based upon their particular religion. There is an aspect of them building that mosque that doesn’t get talked about. And the people in the community know what it is and they’re talking about it.”

It’s funny how those who love to drape themselves in the flag and sleep on sheets made of the Constitution are the first ones to throw it all out the window to support their prejudice views.
